Inter-laboratory colloquium of the Laboratory of Comparative Ethology and Biocommunication, the Laboratory of Behavior and Behavioral Ecology, the Laboratory for the Study of Ecological Functions of Soils, and the Laboratory of Innovative Technologies

On Friday, October 23, at 12:00, an inter-laboratory colloquium will be held in the conference hall (33 Leninsky Prospekt), featuring the Laboratory of Comparative Ethology and Biocommunication, the Laboratory of Behavior and Behavioral Ecology, the Laboratory for the Study of Ecological Functions of Soils, and the Laboratory of Innovative Technologies.

14th International Mammalogical Congress (IMC-14): abstract submission open until October 20

С 7 по 13 августа 2027 года в городе Бонито (штат Мату-Гросу-ду-Сул, Бразилия) пройдёт 14-й Международный конгресс маммалогов. Его организует Бразильское общество маммалогов (SBMz) от имени Международной федерации маммалогов (IFM). Приём тезисов докладов продлится до 20 октября 2026 года.

The 11th BRICS Young Scientists Forum and the 9th BRICS Young Innovator Prize Competition

From November 2 to 6, 2026, the eleventh BRICS Young Scientists Forum and the ninth BRICS Young Innovator Prize competition will take place in Bangalore, Republic of India, as part of India’s BRICS chairmanship.

An All-Russian competition has been launched for the award of President of the Russian Federation scholarships to students and PhD students pursuing their studies abroad

The competition for the President of the Russian Federation scholarships for study abroad - open to students and PhD students in higher education programs at educational institutions - is being held in 2026 to select individuals to be sent for study abroad, funded by the federal budget through these presidential scholarships. Eligible participants include citizens of the Russian Federation who are currently enrolled in their second year or beyond of an undergraduate (bachelor’s or specialist) degree program, or in their first year or beyond of a master’s degree or doctoral research and academic training program. Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in the fields of science, culture, or the arts, achieved significant success in fundamental or applied scientific research, and received a recommendation from the academic (scientific or scientific-technical) council of their educational institution.

On Tuesday, October 20, at 14:00, an inter-laboratory colloquium will be held, involving the Laboratory of Ecology, Physiology, and Functional Morphology of Higher Vertebrates (Head: Yu. F. Ivlev, Doctor of Biological Sciences), the Laboratory of Evolutionary Morphology Issues (Head: S. V. Smirnov, Doctor of Biological Sciences), the Laboratory of Comparative Ethology and Biocommunication (Head: A. V. Surov, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences), and the Electron Microscopy Unit (Head: R. M. Khatsaeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences).

Defense of the dissertation by A.A. Chalkin: "Interactions of xylobiontic nematodes of the genus Bursaphelenchus with coniferous plants and insect vectors of the genus Ips"

On Tuesday, December 15, 2026, at 14:00, a meeting of Dissertation Council 24.1.109.03 will be held in the conference hall of the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences (33 Leninsky Prospekt). The meeting will feature the defense of the dissertation by Andrey Andreyevich Chalkin for the academic degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences, titled: "Interactions of xylobiontic nematodes of the genus Bursaphelenchus with coniferous plants and insect vectors of the genus Ips."
