The Laboratory of Fauna, Parasite Ecology, and Experimental Parasitology was established in 1973; it was headed first by Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences M.D. Sonin, then by V.A. Roitman and Prof. S.A. Bezr. In 2017, the Group of Experimental Parasitology joined the laboratory, having been formed on the basis of the Laboratory of Experimental Parasitology of the IEE RAS Center of Parasitology, which had existed in that capacity since 1994. The group is headed by Dr. Sci. (Biol.), Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia S.O. Movsesyan.
