The priority research areas of the laboratory are:
- studies of the structural and functional organization of helminth populations in ecosystems;
- development of methodological foundations for assessing the integral characteristics of parasitic systems;
- study of the spatial structure of multi-species communities of animal parasites;
- development of the scientific foundations of parasitological monitoring;
- comprehensive study of parasite biodiversity.
Studies are conducted on parasite–host relationships and the genetic structure of helminth populations, including genomic research.
