The room's main task is to organize and assist Institute staff and postgraduate students with electron-microscopic and light-optical studies where such studies are part of their work plans, and with the funding needed to purchase consumables, in support of tasks carried out within the priority areas for the development of education, science, technology and engineering in the Russian Federation. Where joint projects and funding are available, research may be carried out with the participation of staff or postgraduate students from other institutions, regardless of departmental affiliation. The room carries out contract research work involving micromorphological studies and semi-quantitative and qualitative analyses in the field of biological and industrial research (biological and industrial objects).
