Brief description of research activities
Elucidating the mechanisms of morphological adaptations of the digestive organs of vertebrates at all levels of structural organization, related to the specifics of diet and husbandry. Identifying the principles of functional compensation at different levels of structural organization, both between and within digestive organs. Studying the development of digestion type in closely related wild and domestic species of Caprinae and Bovinae in phylogeny. Determining morphofunctional criteria of the digestive organs for classifying Caprinae and Bovinae by diet type.
