5th Conference "Modern Problems of Biological Evolution"

We invite you to participate in the 5th Conference "Modern Problems of Biological Evolution," which will be held on November 22–26, 2027, at the State Darwin Museum (57 Vavilova St., Moscow). The conference language is Russian.

Papers presenting empirical research or theoretical reviews in the following areas are invited for the conference:

* Evolutionary genetics and genomics: genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of adaptogenesis and speciation.

* Intraspecific diversification: adaptations to environmental factors, anthropogenic changes, morpho-ecological forms, population structure, and phylogeography.

* Species and speciation: the species concept, isolating mechanisms, and zones of secondary contact and hybridization.

* Phylogenetics: revision of supraspecific taxa.

* Comparative morphology and evolutionary developmental biology.

* Evolutionary paleontology.

* Evolutionary biocenology.

* Evolution of behavior: behavioral adaptations to new conditions, communication mechanisms, ethological isolation, and the study of animal intelligence.

* Evolutionary theory - past and present: general theoretical and philosophical aspects of evolutionary biology, the fate and critique of scientific concepts, and biographies of scientists.

* Round table on popular science: experience in popularizing scientific knowledge in biology and evolution, and discussion of sociological research findings.

* Round table on evolutionary consequences of alien species invasions: heritable adaptations in introduced and native species, and hybridization.

Conference participation requests may be sent to evolconf@yandex.ru no later than February 15, 2027. A volume of abstracts will be published prior to the conference, and a collection of proceedings will be issued following the event. The organizing committee welcomes proposals for round-table discussions related to the conference themes. Round-table organizers must complete and submit the relevant application form to evolconf@yandex.ru no later than December 15, 2026.
