The international contest "Shared Memory: The genocide of the Soviet people by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War" has launched
The Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Russian Presedential National Center for Historical Memory" announces the International Contest "Shared Memory: Genocide of the Soviet People by the Nazis and Their Accomplices During the Great Patriotic War."
The contest is being held in pursuance of Federal Law No. 74-FZ of April 21, 2025, "On Perpetuating the Memory of the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People During the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945," with the aim of perpetuating the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and fostering a sense of rejection of Nazism in all its forms among children and youth in the Russian Federation and abroad.
Children and young people aged 14 to 35 are invited to participate in the contest. Applications may be submitted across nine categories involving various formats - all united by the shared goal of uncovering the fates of victims of the genocide against the Soviet people and preserving historical memory - such as journalistic and scholarly research, creative projects, and the development of historical memory routes and itineraries linked to the tragedy of the genocide against the Soviet people.
Applications are accepted until September 25, 2026.
