The 3rd All-Russian School-Conference "Systematics and Faunistics of Copepods (Crustacea: Copepoda)" was held at the Glubokoe Lake Biological Station

The school-conference was held from July 12 to 20, 2026, under the guidance of specialists from the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IEE RAS), the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg), and the Institute of Biology of the Komi Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Syktyvkar).

The event was attended by eight interns (graduate students and staff) from universities, research institutes and fisheries institutions of Borok (IBVV RAS), St. Petersburg, Syktyvkar, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.

The goal of the event was to introduce participants to the latest advances in the study of copepods - one of the most important groups of animals inhabiting continental waters - and the methodology for determining their species composition. Lectures and practical exercises on identifying the material being studied were held daily. Part of the time was also devoted to discussions of pressing issues in hydrobiological research methodology and presentations by trainees on the topics of their work.

The knowledge gained at the school-conference will be used by the attendees in their future research and practical work. Based on the participants' interest, further school-conferences are planned.
