We invite you to participate in the 5th International Conference "Preservation and Enhancement of Genetic Resources of Microorganisms" (BRCmicro 2026), which will be held from June 29 to July 2, 2026, in St. Petersburg. The conference is organized by the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU), and the All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Microbiology (VNIISKhM). The 2026 conference is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of agricultural microbiology in Russia.
The aim of the conference is to highlight cutting-edge areas of fundamental and applied microbial research using modern methods in genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, and bioresource collections.
The scientific program will cover four main areas:
• Microbial biodiversity in natural ecosystems
• Economically valuable microorganisms: methods of detection and study
• Pathogenic microorganisms: diagnostics, study, and control issues
• Accumulation, storage, and systematization of microorganisms and information about them
Researchers and students in the fields of microbiology, microbial genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, and related disciplines are invited to submit abstracts.
The primary language of participation is Russian, but papers may also be submitted in English.
General information about the Conference, as well as registration and abstract submission options, are available on the official website. Abstract authors selected by the program committee will be given the opportunity to give an oral presentation at the Conference. Remaining participants whose abstracts have been reviewed will be given the opportunity to submit poster presentations.
Registration and abstract submission will be open until April 15, 2026.
Out-of-town undergraduate and graduate students can participate in the travel grant competition. To participate, applicants must submit a short motivation letter and a scanned copy of a certificate from their place of study confirming their undergraduate/graduate student status during the registration process.
