
On February 20, 2026, the State Research Institute of Civil Aviation (GosNII GA) held a roundtable discussion on "Bioacoustics and Birds: New Solutions for Airports." Researchers from the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IEE RAS) were invited to participate as experts. Participants included Olga Silaeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Ecology and Behavior Management; Alexey Opayev, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Laboratory of Comparative Ethology and Biocommunication; and Victoria Kutilina, Leading Engineer of the Laboratory of Ecology and Behavior Management of Birds.

V.V. Kutilina presented a paper titled "A Bioacoustic Device for Managing Bird Behavior." Representatives from organizations including Ladya LLC, Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (MSTU GA), and Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky, and Pulkovo airports (St. Petersburg) also attended the roundtable. Various methods for managing bird behavior to ensure flight safety were discussed.
