We invite you to participate in a scientific conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Academician Yuri Petrovich Altukhov (October 11, 1936 – October 27, 2006) and continuing the series of traditional population genetics forums held in 2011, 2017, and 2022.
Venue: Moscow, Gubkina St., 3, Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences.
Conference Organizers: Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences (VIGG RAS), Moscow Branch of the Vavilov Society of Geneticists and Breeders (VOGiS), and the Scientific Council on Genetics and Breeding, Russian Academy of Sciences.
Objective: To discuss the current state and prospects of population, evolutionary, conservation and ecological genetics in Russia and worldwide, the role of new methods in assessing biodiversity and identifying factors that determine genetic processes in populations of plants, animals and humans.
The conference is planned to cover the following sections:
1. Genetic Processes in Animal Populations
2. Genetic Processes in Plant Populations
3. Genetic Processes in Human Populations
4. Genetic Mechanisms of Speciation
5. Ecological Genetics
The conference languages are Russian and English.
Applications for participation in the conference, roundtable discussions, and submission of materials are due by June 10, 2026, and should be sent to the conference email address confpopgen2026@gmail.com. A collection of materials indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and assigned individual DOIs is planned for publication by the conference. Materials are accepted in Russian or English.
