Photos are accepted in 6 nominations:
1. Air element – landscapes and open spaces (drone photography and ground-based camera shots);
2. Water element – aquatic and near-aquatic ecosystems, underwater photography, underwater landscapes and organisms;
3. Macro element – macro and micro photography;
4. Human element – a person transforming the environment and a person studying nature;
5. Living element – individual organisms, portraits of animals and plants in their environment;
6. Forest element – forest ecosystems as communities of closely related elements: vegetation, soil, wildlife, water, air. Special nomination from the scientific consortium "RHYTHM of Carbon".
You can submit your work through the competition website, in the "Participate" section. Each photographer can submit up to 5 works. Photographs will be accepted until August 8, 2025.
This year, the jury includes famous photographers: Vitaly Gorshkov, Dmitry Kochergin, Alexey Mikhailov, Nadezhda Muravyova, Sergey Tolmachev and Viktor Tyakht. And also Doctor of Biological Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Center for Evaluation of Photographic Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Carbon Rhythm Consortium Natalya Vasilyevna Lukina and Head of the Scientific Communications Department of the Carbon Rhythm Consortium, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technologies at the National Research University Higher School of Economics Nadezhda Pupysheva.
The jury will select the best photographs that will be exhibited at the exhibition in Moscow. A winner will be chosen in each nomination, who will receive a subscription from our partner, the Science and Life magazine, memorable gifts from the Carbon Rhythm Consortium and a diploma.
