90 years ago, on October 5, 1934, at a meeting of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Laboratory of Evolutionary Morphology at the USSR Academy of Sciences, organized by Academician Alexei Nikolaevich Severtsov, was transformed into the Institute of Animal Evolution.
This date, the 5th of October of 1934, marks the birthday of the modern A. N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of RAS and the beginning of its history.
