The Climate Testing Center of the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences unites the Laboratory of Tropical Technologies and 3 climate testing stations, one in Russia (the settlement of Maly Utrish, Krasnodar Krai) and two in Vietnam: Hoa Lac (a suburb of Hanoi) and Dam Bay (Tre Island, 5 km off the coast of Nha Trang).
The Laboratory of Tropical Technologies was established in 1993.
In 1994-1996, climate stations began operating in Krasnodar Krai and Vietnam.
Since 1997 to the present, the Center has been accredited by Gosstandart of Russia (now the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology) as a technically competent and independent center, which guarantees the objectivity of testing
and independence from developers, manufacturers and consumers of products.
The Center is an affiliated member of the world-renowned "ATLAS EI Devices" (USA) network of testing stations and, at the customer's request, can arrange field testing of materials and products at testing stations and sites in America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Our partners include research institutes, design bureaus and enterprises of the aviation, shipbuilding, nuclear and rocket-and-space industries, as well as organizations of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Over the course of its existence, the Center has carried out more than 80 projects, published 7 monographs, obtained 4 Russian patents, and developed 4 Russian State Standards.
Our staff's work is published in the journals "Corrosion: Materials, Protection," "Chemistry
and Technology of Fuels and Oils," "Paint and Varnish Industry," "Environmental Protection in the Oil and Gas Sector," and others.
The Center employs 7 candidates of science.
