Search for cladocerans and copepods in the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal territory
A junior researcher at the Laboratory of Ecology of Aquatic Communities and Invasions, Elizaveta Dmitrievna Varakina, took a trip to the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Employees of the youth laboratory of anthropogenic dynamics of ecosystems of Vitus Bering KamSU, together with the IEE RAS, are studying the paths of evolution of salmon during the development of new ecological niches.
For six years, scientists studied the ecosystems of a cascade of isolated reservoirs: Angre, Ketachan, Arbunat, Tymgygytgyn, dammed by lava from the last eruption of the side cone of the Ichinsky volcano.

Epidemic among sea urchins: a global threat
Beginning in late 2022, sea urchins died en masse at the northern end of the Gulf of Aqaba, Jordan. All individuals were found dead there within a few days.
In July-August 2023 employees of the IEE RAS organized an expedition to the Anabar Plateau in the valleys of the Kotuykan and Kotuy rivers.
Deep-sea skates of the family Arhynchobatidae play an important role in deep-sea communities of the North Pacific Ocean. Many of these species are predatory.
May 21, 2024 at the IEE RAS an extended meeting of the Scientific Council of the RAS on problems of ecology of biological systems and the Scientific Council of the SBRAS on the problems of Lake Baikal was held.
Employees of the Laboratory of Ecology of Aquatic Communities and Invasions of the IEE RAS published four articles in the journal "Zootaxa" devoted to the systematics and faunistics of cladoceran crustaceans.

The diversity of trophic groups in soil-diving worms of the family Enchytraeidae is shown
Enchytraeids are small relatives of earthworms that can be found in moderately moist soils around the world. These are one of the most important organisms in the soil that decompose plant litter.
The opening speech was made by the Director of the IEE RAS, DBS, Professor S.V. Naidenko. V.V. Rozhnov, Academician of the RAS, DBS, Head of the Laboratory, also spoke at the beginning of the session.
