The Academician V.E. Sokolov Theriological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences will hold a conference with international participation “Mammals in a Changing World: Current Problems of Theriology” (XII Congress of the Academician V.E. Sokolov Theriological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences) from February 2 to 6, 2026 in Moscow, at the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IEE RAS).
The conference is expected to cover the following areas:
- Taxonomy, phylogeny and speciation in mammals
- Phylogeography and species structure
- Zoogeography and faunistics
- Mammalian ecology
- Resource use and conservation of mammals
- Mammalian behavior and communication
- Mammalian ecological physiology
- Medical theriology
- Mammalian parasites and diseases
- Mammalian morphology
- Paleotheriology
The estimated size of the organizational fee for participation in the conference is 2000 rubles (1000 rubles for students and postgraduates).
We ask all theriologists who have not yet done so to update their information on the Society's website, and those who have not yet registered on it - to register and create a personal account.
Abstracts can be submitted until October 1, 2025, and begin with registration on the website of the Theriological Society named after Academician V.E. Sokolov: https://therio.ru/conference/theriosyezd-2026/
Abstracts should be 1 page, no more than 3200 characters (with spaces), including the title and all author data.
Please note: the text of the abstract must not only be entered in the boxes, but also attached as a file formatted according to the rules specified below.
File name - first author's surname in Cyrillic + initials (e.g., "SurnameNP-1"). Format: .doc, .docx or .rtf, Times new Roman font, 12 pt. Please pay attention to the detailed instructions at the end of this letter.
When submitting abstracts, you must select one of the conference directions and to which the message corresponds.
The organizing committee reserves the right to distribute abstracts by direction at its own discretion. The number of messages is not limited.
