The Russian Science Foundation is accepting applications for a joint competition to support Russian-Belarusian research teams. The competition is being held jointly with the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research (BRFFR).
Grants are allocated for the implementation of fundamental and exploratory scientific research in 2026-2028 in the following fields of knowledge:
· Mathematics, computer science and systems sciences;
· Physics and space sciences;
· Chemistry and materials sciences;
· Biology and life sciences;
· Basic research for medicine;
· Agricultural sciences;
· Earth sciences;
· Humanities and social sciences;
· Engineering sciences.
Scientific research should be aimed at solving specific problems within the framework of one of the scientific priorities determined by the problems of the socio-economic development of society, while the predicted result of the research should be of a world level and make a significant contribution to solving the key problems of the specified scientific priority:
· Artificial intelligence, mathematical models, algorithms and computer technologies, technologies for the intellectualization of society;
· Pharmaceutical chemistry, medical technologies;
· Molecular genetics, biotechnology;
· New transport and communication means;
· New methods, materials and devices for the conversion, storage and dissipation of energy;
· New components for micro-, nano-, magneto- and optoelectronics;
· Nanotechnology and additive technologies;
· Laser physics, optical and quantum technologies;
· Nuclear and radiation safety, nuclear physics, elementary particles and accelerator technologies;
· Precision agriculture: digital technologies and their support;
· Social and humanitarian knowledge in the development of man and society.
The size of one grant from the Foundation is from 4 to 7 million rubles annually.
Applications for the competition are submitted no later than 17:00 (Moscow time) on May 26, 2025 in the form of an electronic document signed through the Information and Analytical System of the Foundation. The results of the competition will be announced by December 31, 2025.
