Thesis topic: "Dynamics of the number of small mammals in the middle Yenisei taiga in connection with climate warming".
Abstract:
Fluctuations in the number of small mammals have attracted the attention of researchers and caused numerous disputes for almost a century. The fact that in the late 20th - early 21st centuries in many regions there was a change in the types of dynamics from cyclical to non-cyclical added grounds for discussion. Many researchers associated this fact with global climate change. However, warming continued, and after some time a tendency towards restoration of population cycles was noted, and the influence of meteorological conditions on this process was questioned.
We conducted long-term monitoring of small mammal populations in Central Siberia, and, having analyzed long time series, we are making our own assumptions and conclusions regarding the influence of climate change on the change in types of population dynamics.
